Fífún ọmọ lọ́yàn, tàbí fífún ọmọ lọmú túmọ̀ sí fífún ọmọdẹ́ tàbí ọmọ jòjòló ní omi ọ̀yàn gẹ́gẹ́ bíi oúnjẹ.[1] O le jẹ́ fífún ọmọ ní omi oyàn láti inu oyàn tàbí fífún ọmọ ní omi oyàn tí a ti fi owó fún jáde láti inú oyàn. Àjọ World Health Organization (WHO) pa á ní arowà pé kí ìfún ọmọ lọ́yàn bẹ̀rẹ̀ láàrin wákàtí kan lẹ́yìn tí ọmọ titun bá làjú sáyé, kí ìyá sì tesiwaju títí di ìgbà tí ọmọ bá pé ọmọdún méjì.[2]

Àwọn àjọ tí ó ń rí sí ètò ìlera, pẹ̀lú àjọ WHO, gbà á ní ìyànjú láti fún ọmọ titun ní omi oyàn nìkan fún oṣù mẹ́fà àkókò ayé rẹ̀.[3][4][5] Èyí túmọ̀ sí pé òbí ò gbudọ̀ fi oúnjẹ tàbí omi mìíràn fún ọmọ yàtò sí omi oyàn àti vitamin fún oṣù mẹ́fà àkọ́kọ́.[6] Àjọ WHO pàrọwà fún ìyá láti fi omi oyàn nìkan fún ọmọ ní oṣù mẹ́fà àkọ́kọ́, pẹ̀lú omi oyàn àti àwọn ounjẹ tí ó tó mìíràn fún ó kéré jù, ọdún méjì àkọ́kọ́ ọmọ titun.

Fifunnomo lọ́yàn ní ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ ànfàní fún ìyá àti ọmọ.[4][7] Fífún ọmọ lọ́yàn ma ń ran àwọn Ọlọ́pa ara ọmọdé lọ́wọ́ láti dojú kọ àwọn aarun tí ó le fẹ́ pa ọmọdé lára[8][9]
