Correct Yoruba spelling needs confirmation

[àtúnṣe àmìọ̀rọ̀]

This page name was changed to Ìjíptì. However, the Yoruba WP already has categories and pages using the previous spelling:

There may be others, but these are in the high-level category Ẹ̀ka:Ẹ́gíptì. Only one spelling should be used for all. Which is correct? -- Deborahjay (ọ̀rọ̀) 11:05, 24 Oṣù Kẹta 2020 (UTC)

Thank you Deborahjay, all the spelling of Egypt are wrongly spelt. The standard one is either "Egypt", to comply with translation rule in yorùbá which says it is not compulsory to translate a name from another language to Yorùbá or "Íjípítì", the standard orthography to write it in Yorùbá language. This is relevant advice as we work on improve the Yoruba WP. Thanks to Oníṣe:Oniwe for making the first correction! My suggestion is that all page and category names be spelled in Yoruba, with the diacritic letters, and the familiar English name, e.g. Egypt, be set up as a REDIRECT page. I recall the Yo WP admin T Cells expressing this guideline in a recent discussion. I'll now ask for his input and then proceed with any necessary changes. -- Deborahjay (ọ̀rọ̀) 12:19, 24 Oṣù Kẹta 2020 (UTC)
Hello Oníṣe:Deborahjay et al. Neither the existing names nor Oníṣe:Oniwe's version is correct. There is no p in Yoruba alphabet and phonology. The phonemic representation of p in Yoruba language is /kp/. It's better left as " Egypt" in my opinion. Regards. T CellsTalk 16:55, 24 Oṣù Kẹta 2020 (UTC)
There is also a discussion at Ọ̀rọ̀ oníṣe:T Cells. Regards. T CellsTalk 18:32, 24 Oṣù Kẹta 2020 (UTC)

Now that the above discussion sets the correct spelling as Egypt - is this the time to change all pages and categories, so an incorrect spelling doesn't remain in the Yoruba WP? -- Deborahjay (ọ̀rọ̀) 18:49, 25 Oṣù Kẹta 2020 (UTC)

Yes, please go ahead to fix the necessary pages. Regards. T CellsTalk 18:56, 25 Oṣù Kẹta 2020 (UTC)
