Usage

This template is designed to display the information on Egyptian pharaohs, including their names in Egyptian hieroglyphs. All but the name are optional, the parameters are as below (for a full example see Ramesses II).

alt_namesets any alternatives of the name (optional)
imagesets image for the info box (try and 'use a headshot', if possible) (optional)

alignsets the position of the template: left, center or right.
erasets the colours of the template by predefined era: see Template talk:Hiero.
nomensets the Nomen – use <hiero></hiero> format, then the transliteration, and then translation (optional)

goldensets the text of the Golden Horus name (optional)
nebtysets the text of the Nebty name (optional)
horussets the text of the Horus (optional)
reignsets the dates of the reign (use alternatives, if known) (optional)

Microformat

The HTML markup produced by this template includes an hCard microformat, which makes the person's details parsable by computers, either acting automatically to catalogue articles across Wikipedia or via a browser tool operated by a reader, to (for example) add the subject to an address book or database. Sub-templates

Date-of-birth ("bday") information will only be included in the microformat if {{birth date}}, {{birth date and age}}, {{birth-date}} or {{birth-date and age}} are used in the infobox. (but do not use these if the date is before 1583).

To include a URL, use {{URL}}.
