This template may be used to give information about a Wikipedia page in another language which has been translated to an English page.

Place the following code near the top of the talk page of the English page:

{{Translated page|original language|original page|comment|version=old id}}
  • Replace original language with the language prefix of the original page, for example de for German, fr for French, or another from meta:List of Wikipedias.
  • Replace original page with the exact name of the original page in the original language.
  • Replace comment with an optional text to be displayed, for instance the date of the original page, which parts have been translated, or any other pertinent data. The comment argument may be omitted.
  • The optional parameter version can be used to specify a specific revision of the source article. To find this out, select the article history from the source article, and click on the date that corresponds to the revision that was used for translation. The resulting page will have a url that ends with &oldid=number. This number should be used for the version.

Examples:

{{Translated page|fr|Élevage|Translated from French Wikipedia as of 10 August 2008}} produces
{{translated page|de|ICE 1|Translated from German Wikipedia|version=45565777}} produces

The template can be used more than once if different languages or different pages in the same language were translated.

Note that this template is a self reference, and therefore should be placed on talk pages and not used directly in articles.
