Wọ́n bí Rahmon ní oṣù kẹwàá ọdún 1948 ní Ìpínlẹ̀ Ògùn, ní apá Ìwọ̀-oòrùn ilẹ̀ Nàìjíríà. Ilé-ìwé Egbado College ní Ilaro tó wà ní ìpínlè Ògùn ni ó lọ. Ó tẹ̀síwájú láti gboyè ẹ̀kọ́ ní Polytechnic of Ibadan, níbi tí ó ti gba oyè OND nínú ìmọ̀ mechanical engineering. Ní ọdún1974, ó gba oyè B.Sc. nínú ìmọ̀ chemical engineering bákan náà láti Obafemi Awolowo University. Ó sì tún ní oyè ẹ̀kọ́ ti master's nínú chemical engineering láti University of Waterloo àti Ph.D. láti ilé-ẹ̀kọ́ kan náà.[4]
